The Honolulu Advertiser Discussion Board – Akaka Symposium at Heritage Foundatiom

Boy, it’s funny to see how I got dogpiled by the hecklers in nothing flat :).

Thank you Ben Holokai for inspiring me to speak up. My kids, my nieces and nephews all love your coloring books!

Thanks to all people with contrary opinions who inspired me to persevere. Were it not for the radical activists with their racist agendas, I would never have learned nearly as much about the Hawaiian Revolution, and certainly never would have embarked on a project like The Morgan Report. Without the impetus of their ignorance, I would never have been motivated to seek and find the truth.

  2. Again, I think the petition number is exaggerated. I’d love to hear of any news you have about the alleged 17,000 signatures that have not be located. I’d also love to hear your take on the fraud contained in the Kue Petitions:

    Jere:

According to your more recent posts on Scott’s blog, you would have me and all other Hawaiians believe that our kupuna, including our ali’i, were corrupt, malicious, knieving and manipulative individuals based on that one individual’s diary. I cannot, and will not, accept that! I believe that their inherit sense of pono would not allow one to behave in such a way–as an early-19th century American would. The only fraud that took place in regard to the Kü’ë petitions was that they were hidden away in the bowels of the so-called capitol for over a hundred years. When those 17,000 signatures are located, Jere, I’ll make sure that you will be the first to know!

    Remaining steadfast,
    M. Kesa

  4. No Malcolm, I would have you believe that your kupuna and ali’i were human, imperfect, and flawed. As corrupt as Kalakaua and Liliuokalani may have been, I’m sure they believed they were doing the right thing. Similarly, as bigoted as the haoles were who took over the government, I’m sure they believed they were doing the right thing.

Everyone’s intentions may have been noble in some respect, and everyone’s actions may have been ignoble in some respect. I assert not that any party was completely evil, but that they were all completely human.

  5. American Hawaiians, Live Up!

    American Hawaiians, Live Up!
    Multi-ethnic people, don’t give up!
    Local people, live up, yeah!
    Multi-ethnic people, don’t give up!
    Keep your homes:
Don’t be afraid of militant poems!
    Grow your families:
Don’t be afraid of vocal minorities!

    American Hawaiians, Live Up!
    Multi-ethnic people, don’t give up!
    Local people, live up, yeah!
    Multi-ethnic people, don’t give up!

    We all signed the petition, for our state and nation;
116,000, and we have our rightful station!

    Multi-ethnic people, live up!
All of us immigrants, don’t give up!
    Equality man, live up, yeah!
    American Hawaiians, no give up!

Don’t give up, don’t give up, don’t give up!
