Saw the exhibit in Los Angeles, and yeah, it's pretty hamfisted about trying to polish up the image of Islam.

The real problem here is the entire idea of trying to credit the triumphs of humanity to any specific group.  Calling an invention "Muslim" or "Christian" or "Jewish" or "Hindu" or "African" or any other qualifier is simply a gloss over the eternal truth – all of these inventions are human.
